Are these face masks worth trying?

First and foremost, I’m a dedicated user of Bobbi Brown’s skincare products – I use it a lot on all my clients. Their “Hydrating cream” is amazing to prepare dry skin prior to applying make-up. It prevents the skin from becoming flaky, it extends the longevity of the make-up and I recommend it on all my clients that have a dry skin. Their “Hydrating Eye Cream” is also insanely good and I use it on myself a lot. I think her skincare line is even better than the make-up products (even though I’m a huge fan of the make-up line too.)

Instant Detox (Grey tube)
Ingredients: Hawaiian Sea Water, Amazonian white clay,

Skin type: Oily
How to use: Apply a thin layer on slightly damp skin, let it dry for two to five minutes, then rinse off with warm water. Use once a week or as needed.

Skin Nourish (Pink tube)
Ingredients:Coral grass, Salicornia, Trehalose, Chlorella extract, Muru Muru Butter

Skin type: Dry
How to use: Apply liberally on skin and allow to absorb for two to five minutes. Tissue off excess product, then gently massage the remaining mask into skin. Use as needed for intense moisturization and three times weekly to help repair skin’s natural moisture berries and reduce the look of fine, dry lines.

Radiance Boost (White tube)

Ingredients: Kaolin clay, Algae extract, Sodium hyaluronate, Orange oil

Skin type: All skin types
How to use: Apply onto damp skin, leave on for two minutes then rinse off with warm water while gently massaging skin in circular motions to increase  exfoliation action. Use once a week or as needed.

The verdict
I tried out the “Instant Detox” mask because it’s more suitable for my oily skin. The texture reminds me a lot of a mud mask but without the scent of it.

It dries up quite fast (after about 3 min), it feels a bit tingling on the skin and it has a heating effect too. As you can see in the picture, once it dries up it creates tiny holes.

After rinsing my face it did feel very fresh, but I don’t think it cleared out my pores enough. The mask isn’t very aggressive to the skin instead, its very gentle. I used this round face sponge from Sephora to remove the mask with as I was rinsing it. Afterwards I applied the “Intensive Skin Supplement Serum” which by the way is amazing! I’ve only used it a couple of times and I can already see a huge difference in the clarity of my skin.

The only thing I wasn’t too crazy about is that once I rinsed my face (with the sponge), it left grey patches on my skin. So I had to use a face wash again to remove those patches. I think I would prefer using this mask at night instead of in the morning.

Radiance Boost (white tube)

Two days later, I tested the Radiance Boost mask. This mask was far more effective than the “Instant Detox” (grey tube). I love the fact that it contains tiny walnut beads, this way it can exfoliate my skin. For my oily skin, I do need some exfoliation to clear out the pores on a daily basis, especially in the morning – whether or not I’m wearing make-up that day. After washing off the mask, my skin felt very fresh, clean, tight and it looked radiant. The walnut exfoliation was gentle to the skin, yet very effective. I can definitely see myself using this mask regularly and I definitely recommend it if you have an oily skin.

I haven’t tested the “Skin Nourish” mask (pink tube) because its not suitable for my skin. It’s meant to hydrate very dry skin and I know for a fact that if I’ll use this, it’ll cause break-outs on me. I do look forward to start using this on my clients since many of them have dry skin.

great blog! skin care products will be much more effective if applied with skin medical treatments. i know there are services offered in Marina Medical Centre. their services are sometimes in promos but the result is really great
