Time flies so quickly! This season’s Fashion Forward went by so fast! For those who aren’t familiar with Fashion Forward, It’s basically like fashion week (except that it’s 3 days instead of a week) where local designers showcase their new collection. It’s a big event in Dubai where all the fashionista’s gather to indulge into fashion, it’s also a popular event for celebrities and personalities.
Last year Myriam Fares attended one of the shows and this year ”BryanBoy” attended the shows where model Shaun Ross (as seen in Beyonce’s video’s) walked the runway for Velsvoir.
I got to be backstage at the KAGE show and meet MAC’s Senior make-up artist Michelle-Lee Collins (who is incredibly sweet!). She came all the way from South Africa to be the key make-up artist for a couple of shows at Fashion Forward.
I am so amazed by the talents we have in the Middle East and especially in the UAE. I think that Dubai has definitely left a mark into the international fashion world.
Furne one by AMATO
I’m a great fan of Furne Amato. I think he’s an amazingly talented and SUPER creative designer! Not only does he put focus into the design of his pieces but also into the hair, make-up, accessories and the entire theme! Every season he blows everyone away with an amazing show! Again this season I loved the make-up looks! It’s simple but powerful!
You’ve got to love the dark contour and very light highlight!. It’s such a strong and almost tribal look, I just love it!
I’m not saying it’s not a nice look but I just wished they would put more creativity into it as it doesn’t differentiate much from last season’s look. The look last season was with dramatic lashes too and red lips. Overall it’s a beautiful look which is not necessarily a runway look but it can be worn on a daily basis.
Bleach brows; YES! White lashes; YES! Strong highlight; YES! I really liked this look, the bob?… Uhmm not so much! Overall a stunning look. It reminds me a bit of the look Pat McGrath created for the Alexander Mc Queen show at the previous fashion week.
