I finally got my hands on the most anticipated make-up launch of the year: Fenty Beauty by Rihanna. I love Rihanna and everything she does, whatever she touches turns into gold so I HAD to have these products because I knew they’re going to be good. I attended the press launch yesterday at Sephora in Mall of the Emirates before it officially launched. The collection features 40 foundations which is so incredible! Women of all color love make-up and it can be difficult for many women with darker complexions to find their foundation shade. It’s great that she created a line that’ll feel all women included. The products are incredible and I can’t wait to get more highlighters. Below you’ll find the swatches and my full review. Also, important side note: Fenty Beauty is 100% cruelty free, YAY!
FENTY Beauty // Killawatt, Freestyle Highlighter #Trophy Wife
I’m sure you’ve seen this highlighter all over social media, I think it’s the most popular product of the collection. It can be a bit challenging to photograph glitters so I don’t think that this photo is doing any justice to what the actual product is like in real life. The amount of glow and iridescence this highlighter has, is on a next level. It can be used as an eyeshadow or highlighter whether on your face or body. Tip: when using this on the body, I do recommend applying it over a frosty, non glittery highlighter first. I feel like you can get the most out this product then. Overall, gorgeous product, extremely high pigmented and long lasting. I’m wearing it all over my face in the pictures below.
* Comes in 6 shades / Price: 160 AED, $34
FENTY Beauty // Gloss Bomb, Universal Lip Luminizer #Fenty Glow
Rihanna created one lipgloss shade that will suit all complexions. I think the lighter your complexion is the more colorful it looks. I would describe the shade as rosewood, leaning more towards warm brown. It does contain shimmers and it looks very iridescent on the lips. On my complexion this lipgloss looks like a sheer nude color.
* Comes in 1 shade / Price: 95 AED, $18
FENTY Beauty // Pro Filt’r, Soft Matte Longwear Foundation #280
At first I was pretty sure that the foundation oxidizes but it doesn’t. The foundation dries quite fast and when its wet, the shade is slightly lighter. However, it does eventually dries into it’s original shade. If you’re trying this foundation for the first time and trying to figure out your shade, make sure to wait until it dries then see if the shade matches your skin tone.
Moving forward, I love the matte finishing and combined with the contour & highlight sticks, everything looks super airbrushed. I wore this foundation yesterday all day and it feels extremely light weighted, even though the texture is matte, I didn’t feel like it made my skin look cakey. It rather looked like second skin, but matte. I would describe the coverage as sheer to medium, if you want a thicker coverage then I would suggest double layering it on the skin.
* Comes in 40 shades / Price: 170 AED, $34
FENTY Beauty // Match Stix Trio, Matte and Shimmer Skinsticks #Bamboo #Mocha & #Trippin
I’m usually not the creamy contour kinda person because it can be a hassle sometimes to blend it in and mostly looks very unnatural. However, I find these sticks a game changer and very easy to use especially for those that are just starting to experiment with make-up. I do recommend blending the contour sticks using the Fenty contour & concealer brush because they work so well together. The shades match my complexion perfectly! I was a bit hesitant with the contour sticks and applied a tiny bit at first but you can be quite generous with the application of these sticks. They look super natural on the skin no matter how much you apply, for some reason it blends perfectly on the skin and molds very quickly. The shimmery stick was a bit too light for my complexion, I would definitely opt for something more gold toned next time. What I like about the shimmer stick is that it dries quickly which prevents creating a mess and it lasts all day.
* Comes in 4 shades / Price: 245 AED, $54 (120 AED, $25 per stick)
FENTY Beauty // Portable Contour & Concealer stick #150
As I mentioned previously, this brush works great in combination with the contour & concealer sticks and it creates an airbrushed finish.
* Price: 120 AED, $24
In these photos I’m wearing all the products listed above.
