A beautiful make-up look starts with good skincare, so taking care of your skin is SUPER important!. I visit the dermatologist every month (no joke!) because I’ve got a very problematic skin. Not because I don’t take care of my skin, but because it’s in my genes. I always have a rash, pimple or scar that needs to be treated. If it’s not on my face, it’s something on my body.
Joelle Mardinian (beauty queen of the middle east) told me something when I interviewed her (which will be on my blog soon) She said: ”I always get questions from women on how to cover up blemishes and hide scars & pimples etc. I always tell them that you shouldn’t look for something to hide them, but you should treat it so that they disappear!”
I couldn’t agree more with her! The products I will be talking about below (except for the baking soda), have all been recommend to me by my dermatologist.
1. BIODERMA Purifying cleansing foaming gel
I want to start by saying that I’ve got a very oily skin! Ever since I’ve been using the gel wash, the
oilyness in my face has definately reduced about 80%. I wash my face with the gel wash twice
Because I have an oily skin, I like to scrub my face to cleanse out the pores. The baking soda
really cleanses out my pores and it tightens my pores like crazy! Also it gives my face a really nice
natural glow. I just take 2 pumps of the gel wash and about 1 teaspoon of baking soda. Then I
massage my face with it as if it’s a scrub. I use baking soda about 4 times a week for my face. The
baking soda I’m using is by ‘Foster Clark’s’ and you can find it in Carrefour for 3.50 AED.
I’ve got very small fine pimples, to treat them I use the Epiduo after washing my face with Bioderma gel wash. I use the Epiduo once every other day because it’s quite strong. If I use it everyday my skin might start peeling and it becomes very sensitive. I’ve been using the Epiduo for about a month and a half now, and it has reduced my fine pimples and blackheads A LOT! My dermatologist gave me the prescription of the Epiduo so I’m not sure if you just can buy it at the pharmacy.
4. BIODERMA Moisturising Mattifying Fluid
On the days where I’m not using the Epiduo I use Bioderma’s Mattifying Fluid as a moisturizer. The name of the product already says it, it mattify’s the skin and it makes my skin feel very soft &
smooth. I use it in the morning and evening after washing my face.
5. BIODERMA Corrective care for enlarged pores
This is also something that I use on days when I’m not using the Epiduo. After applying the Mattifying Fluid, I apply this ‘Corrective Care For Enlarged Pores’. I love this product! It’s great for the pores in combination with the baking soda! It also treats blemishes 😉
6. BIODERMA Mattifying Sun Fluid SPF 30
Unfortunately I’m not using sunblock as much as I should but I’m definitely trying now to use it
every day. Not only because I have to prevent my skin from getting rimples and sunburns but also because I’m using the Epiduo, and it makes my skin a bit sensitive. I use Bioderma’s Sun Fluid in SPF 30 and so far I’m loving it. The texture is not too thick (which most sunblocks are) and my skin doesn’t look so white after applying it.
Lamisil 250 mg Tablets
Something that I’ve been using recently is Lamisil tablets. Honestly, I’m not a fan at all of pills and tablets because I never know what’s in them and they always have side effects so I don’t always trust pills. I’d rather use external medication or natural products such as; spices, oils and
fruits/vegetables. I never take any medication when I’m sick, I just eat healthy, drink a lot of water and make sure to rest. Also, the fact that some people get addicted to medication pills says a lot to me. BUT because I have a rash on my back and belly that’s been annoying me for over a year now and every external medication didn’t work, I have been recommended by my dermatologist to take these Lamisil pills once a day.
The Lamisil tablet basically treats skin infections whether you have it on your scalp, legs, back etc. It also says that it treats nail infections and it stimulates the growth of the nails. So far I haven’t seen any difference yet because I’ve only been using it for 6 days now. I have to take these pills 4 weeks to 6 weeks before I see any difference. I’m very curious to see the results and it better work for my skin! 😉
I hope this blogpost has been helpful to some people as I received a lot of questions about my skincare routine lately. You can find all Bioderma products at almost every pharmacy.
