My first experience at ESPA in Abu Dhabi

I’ve visited the the Ritz Carlton hotel in Abu Dhabi many, many times! However, for some reason I never got the chance to visit the ESPA. I tried the Advanced Radiance Facial (of 90 min) which is a recent new treatment introduced in the spa. Obviously, the products that were used during the facial are personalised and selected according to your skin type.

Before my facial, I got the chance to meet Susan Harmworth who is the founder and CEO of ESPA. I was shocked to find out that she’s already in her 70’s because of her great energy and amazing (almost wrinkles) skin, she looks in her 50’s. This was the main reason for me to be so excited to try out their facial and skincare products. I mean, she’s the living proof that her products work amazing!

The spa has an outdoor jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and a relaxing room if you just want to lay down and relax after your treatment. There’s also a private beach area which is only allowed for spa guests to come.

The products used at the spa are from ESPA’s in-house brand. The products are 100% natural, paraben free and they offer a wide range of skincare products.

The spa is no doubt a beautiful oriental and relaxing place to unwind. I absolutely loved the facial! My skin felt super fresh and hydrated afterwards. My favourite part of the facial was when the facialist used the (peppermint) Lift & Firm Mask on me. Not only does it feel super refreshing on the skin, it also opens up the nostrils which which obviously forces you to breath better. I do think that 90 minutes is a bit too long for a facial. But then again, this comes from a person who runs out of patience if a massage takes longer than 15 minutes – I guess it’s something very personal. I did absolutely love the entire treatment and what it did to my skin, but I do wish that it would’ve been done in less time because I got bored at some point. Btw, how radiant does my skin look? Amazing!
