Amsterdam is incredibly beautiful when it’s sunny. I was lucky enough to be there just in time for Cherry Blossom season. Having lived in Amsterdam almost all my life, I never realized that the city has so many cherry blossom trees. I only realized this now after not living there anymore. Having said that, it was much colder than I expected/wished.
What did I get up to during this short trip? Shopping, cycling around the city, eating good food and catching up with friends and family.

Strolling through the city
I was lucky to experience a sunny day on my first day here. I’ve walked around the city for hours along the canals and I couldn’t stop taking photos of everything
More sunny vibes
The best way to explore Amsterdam in my opinion is by bike. There’s a lot to explore and the easiest way to get everywhere is by bike. You don’t have to worry about parking or traffic. Some of my favorite places in Amsterdam are:
- 9 Straatjes: This is an area that has 9 streets filled with great shopping boutiques, cafe’s and is surrounded by canals.
- De Jordaan: This area also has great, niche clothing brands, the Noorder Market is popular too which is on Saturdays.
- Van Woustraat: This street has a lot of cute cafes and amazing breakfasts spots.
- Museum square: On sunny days this square is perfect to relax on the grass and soak up the sun. I like to picnic here with my friends, there’s a huge supermarket (Albert Heijn) that caters to picnics and sells delicious food.
I didn’t bring camera everywhere I went but I couldn’t help taking advantage of a good photo moment.
