MAC Cosmetics has launched a very impressive product recently, the Modern Twist Kajal Liners. The small tip is supposed to be an “easy-glide formula” that has a silky, soft texture which is perfect for lining the sensitive waterline. I put these kajal liners to the test and here’s what I think…
The liners offer a full coverage, they’re water resistant and blend able. The textures vary from matte to shimmery and they’re available in 13 shades, below you’ll find all swatches.
Polar ice | Nothing on | Grey Tide (shimmery) | Groundbreaker | Long Espresso
Shoreline | Nightcast | Ocean Liner | New Marine (shimmery)
Swamped (shimmery) | Cat’s Meow | Black Walnut | Squid
The colours are very pigmented, especially the darker shades. They look great and very intense around the eyes and inside the waterline. However, I personally don’t think that the 3 lightest shades look very pigmented inside the waterline. At first I first thought my eyes were too watery but then I tested it out on my clients and it didn’t look that vibrant on them either. Other than that, they last extremely long without smudging at all! At one point I completely forgot that I still had the swatches on my hand, and at the end of the night I realised they were still perfectly on. I tried rubbing it off or since it off with water, which didn’t work. Overall I’m very impressed by the quality and longevity go these kajal liners. The long-wearing waterproof formula locks in your look for hours, which I think is perfect for this region – especially on those humid Summer days!
The “Modern Twist Kajal Liners” are available in M.A.C stores across the region.
