Versace has launched a new fragrance for women as an addition to the very popular men’s edition Eros. The perfumes by the fashion house are always a bit predictable, usually very sweet. When I tried out the new Eros Pour Femme I was surprised by how fresh and powdery this fragrance actually is. Whether you like Versace perfumes or not, I think the new Eros Pour Femme is definitely worth trying if you’re looking for a new Summer fragrance… And like always, the bottle is a stunner!
Versace // Eros Pour Femme
Top Notes | Pomegrenate, Sicilian Lemon, Calabrian Bergamot
Heart Notes | Lemon Flower, Sambac Jasmine Absolute, Jasmine Infusion, Peony
Base Notes | Sandalwood, Ambrox, Musk, Sensual Woods
For a Versace perfume it surprises me that the notes aren’t very heavy and dominating the fresh notes. The citrusy notes are definitely the strongest notes but then it dries down into a sweet, spicy scent. Finally the musky and woody notes settle in which creates this beautiful fresh but oriental fragrance. It’s powdery, sweet and fresh at the same time also, the ingredients are very well blended. The fragrance is soft yet noticeable, I love it!
* Eros Pour Femme is available in 50ml (379 AED) and 100ml (499 AED) Eau de Parfum
Versace // Eros
Top Notes | Mint, Lemon, Green Apple
Heart Notes | Tonka Bean, Ambroxan, Geranium
Base Notes | Madagascar Vanilla, Vetivier, Oakmoss, Virginian & Atlas Cedar
My husband is extremely picky when it comes to perfumes. If a fragrance is a little bit too strong, it’s immediately a no no for him. I personally love a strong, fresh yet spicy men’s fragrance so when I tried out this perfume, I wasn’t sure if he would like it or not. Surpisingly, he liked it more than I did.
The vanilla is very present, a little too present that it dominates the base notes: Vetiver, Cedar & Oak Moss. The strong fragrance is definitely long lasting and it’s still very present at the end of the day.. Yes I sniffed my man in a very criticising way. Despite all of the ingredients, only 3 ingredients stand out in this fragrance; the Lemon, Apple and Vanilla. The beginning of the fragrance doesn’t really differentiate from the end. I do wish that the Vanilla wouldn’t be so strong and that the fragrance would contain a bit of Bergamot to create some freshness. With all the sweet accords, the fragrance is on the edge of being tacky and it makes it a bit over the top. All in all, it’s a beautiful men’s fragrance but I’ve tried better ones before.
